Definition

Splenomegaly is enlargement of the spleen.

The presence of an enlarged spleen is precisely determined ultrasonography. It has high sensitivity and specificity and is safe, noninvasive, quick, mobile, and less costly.

Normal = a maximum cephalocaudad diameter of 13 cm).1
